A short history:
It is our flagship,a fascinating 15-meter vintage ketch, built in 1957 in Cook shipyards in the Netherlands. It has a round steel hull, teak deck and wooden interior.
Its first owner is a Frenchman very well known in the international field of sailing. He was the instructor of a young sailing pioneer, Edith Baumann, who at the age of 22 was training to face the solitary Atlantic crossing aboard a trimaran. She sailed on Cassiopèe from France to Italy to Trieste making reference to her journey in her book "Alone against Atlantic". In Trieste Cassiopèe passed into the hands of two Italian brothers who sold it to a man from Puglia who took it to Otranto.
So, 12 years ago, Rocco and Cristiana become the owners of Cassiopèe that was used to improve the Durlindana business.

Sailing from the harbor and after having admired the beauty of the coast of Castro, Andrano and Tricase Porto, we have the first stop for swimming in the bay of Marina Serra "Matrona Cave". A tasty aperitif which include friselline with tuna and tomatoes, pepata di cozze (mussels with pepper and lemon juice), typical focaccia and white wine will wait for you at the end of your swimming.
We carry on with the visit of the coast and the several caves from Marina of Novaglie on: the "Elefante", the Ponte Ciolo, Big cave of Ciolo, the "Bocca del pozzo", the "Cattedrale", the "Minnute", the "Vora", Orto cupo and Soffio cave, till we reach Leuca "De finibus terrae". There you can enjoy the impressive Leuca lighthouse and the many late 800s Moorish villas facing the seafront.
Launching stop with spaghetti with mussels and clams, seasonal fruit, beverages, white wine and coffea.

Sailing from the harbor we introduce you the history of Castro caves. We will then arrive in Porto Miggiano bay for a swimming stop and the aperitif.
We carry on nourthly sailing along the sulphurous water of S.Cesarea Terme, Porto Badisco fiord where we stop for lunch. Then we will reach the Torre S.Emiliano, Capo D'Otranto "Punta Palascia" (the eastern point of Italy) and Orte bay. We slowly sailing back to Castro harbor.
Arrival time around 5.30pm

carry on your own snorkeling stuff or you can rent it from us on board.
